We are very happy to announce that we are again holding our Overdose Memorial Awareness Walk this year on August

15. As in past years, the walk allows us to raise awareness and support families dealing with addiction and loss due to

overdose. This walk has been missed by many families. New families of loss and friends of families struggling with the

effects of addiction.

The walk for 2021 will be held on August 15 at 9:00AM on the Highland side of the Walkway Over the Hudson.

The 2019 walk was a great success. Marc Molinaro spoke as did the Commissioner of Behavioral and Community Health,

Dr. Vaidian. We also heard from families that have been affected by this drug crisis that surrounds us and offered

NARCAN training. This year’s walk is expected to be even better. We have a great agenda with interesting speakers

We have done great work over the last 4 years and our platform has widened as a result. Due to the COVID-19

Pandemic, there have been many things that have changed but some of the most devastating effects have been the

increase in drug use, the feeling of isolation and sadly drug overdoses.

Our goal is to help families affected by the disease of addiction and increase awareness of the seriousness of the opioid

epidemic affecting our community. We would love for you to attend the walk and hope you are able to support our

initiatives financially. The 2021 sponsorship opportunities are as follows:

 We will once again offer NARCAN training as well as the Overdose Love Lock Gate at the Walk, where participants can

affix a lock in memory of their lost loved one. This gate is on display year-round at the newly designed garden located at

146 Old Route 9 in Fishkill.
